Texas Long Range Plan for Technology

In my opinion, all four areas of the Texas Long Range Plan for Technology are vital to the success of students and schools; however, I believe the Administration, Leadership, and Instructional Support area can have the most impact on the success of the plan. This area involves that administrators understand the possibilities that technology brings to educational setting, model the use of technology in professional and everyday activities, and ensure that others are doing the same by taking on the leadership role. The campus and district administrators should collaborate to provide a shared vision and should also be a catalyst for change within the campus and district. The administrators should act as leaders and should share the vision by using a technology plan that provides effective and effecient technology implementation for student, faculty, administrative and community use.

I have been at Floresville High School for the last six years and I have seen the Adminstration take huge strides in promoting the use of technology and supplying teachers with the needed resources to accommodate student needs. In the last two years, there have been more professional development opportunities in the area of technology teachers provided by the campus administration for teachers. They have also provided more on campus instructional support for teachers and students. This has helped to increase the use of technology in the classrooms as teachers are feeling  more confident in using technology tools with the added campus instructional support.

I believe that the leaders of the district and campus are the most important people that affect the Long Range Plan for Technology as they are instrumental in providing resources such as funding, professional development opportunities, and staffing that will ensure measures are being taken to reach the goals of the plan. It is my belief that leaders and administrators of Floresville ISD and Floresville High School continue to serve the teachers and students in a manner that will help students achieve success and prepare them for becoming productive members of society in the 21st Century.

The only recommendation I have is for Floresville ISD and Floresville High School to continue to make technology a daily priority for teachers, students, and faculty.
